Answer:

D. Each enzyme can catalyze a wide variety of different reactions

Explanation:

Each enzyme can only catalyze a few, specific types of reactions.

Since enzymes and substrates are very specific to one another, enzymes cannot catalyze a wide variety of reactions.

If a substrate is not the correct one that fits in the enzyme's active site, a reaction will not occur.

So, each enzyme can only assist in a few reactions.

The correct answer is D. Each enzyme can catalyze a wide variety of different reactions

Which of the following is most likely the greatest contributing factor to the declining Atlantic cod populations?
ruslelena [56]
Atlantic cod is a benthopelagic fish that is consumed primarily by humans. These are commercially known as codling. From the given choices, legal regulations and increasing reproductive capacity are both beneficial to the population of the cod. Analyze and evaluate the formation of organic carbon molecules in c4 plants.
Setler [38]

In C4 plants, photosynthesis is compartmentalized into two; light-dependent stage and  light independent stage. The light-dependent stage occurs in the mesophyll cells of the leaf. Here, CO2 is fixed into oxaloacetate by PEP carboxylase enzyme. The oxaloacetate is then converted to malate that is then transported to bundle-sheath cells (around the leaf veins). The CO2 is then released from the malate and the gas molecule is subsequently fixed by RuBiSCO like in C3 plants. The biggest advantage of C4 photosytheis is that the wasteful process of photorespiration is greatly reduced.
