None of the offspring are predicted to be YY (homozygous dominant)

Answer:

0%

Explanation:

The definition of homozygous dominant means:

Homozygous: both alleles have to be identical

Dominant: the gene that overrides the recessive gene, indicated by a capital letter when using a Punnet Square.

Thus, we are looking for both completely identical dominant gene, and as you can see, it does not appear in the Punnet Square. The only identical gene would be the two homozygous recessive alleles, but none of which have capital letters (none are dominant); henceforth, 0% of the offspring are predicted to be homozygous dominant.

Compare passive and active transport through the cell membrane, including energy use and concentration gradients.
sweet [91]
Passive transport vs active transport sounds like what it is. In passive transport, there is no energy needed to get the molecules across the cell membrane, whereas in active transport, energy is expended getting the molecules across the membrane. Basically in active transport the ATP in your cells gives one of it’s phosphates to the transport proteins in your cell membrane and it lets select molecules in. These molecules are moving through a concentration gradient during active transport(with the help of ATP), from an area of low concentration to an area of high concentration.
