An inappropriate practice which most likely occurred if a researcher takes credit for someone else’s idea and does not acknowledge the original source is called plagiarism. Plagiarism is cheating and categorized as theft.

EXPLANATION:

Plagiarism is an act of ‘stealing’ others’ idea. It is when researchers or even students copying the idea, words, phrases, or works from someone else without giving the credit in their writing. Actually, nothing’s wrong when researchers or students cite other sources for their work. Yet, if they don’t give the credit or the source of their phrases, ideas, or words, it is categorized as plagiarizing.

APUS Academic Dishonesty Policy gives this following list of the works which are sensitive to be plagiarized:

• Facts, ideas, or statistics which are not your own and not common knowledge, yet it is stated without citation.

• Direct quote from a source where it is not quoted marks, in-text citation, and reference. It includes paraphrasing a quote from a source and not using reference or in-text citation.

• Citing source without giving the real bibliographical information.

• Writing works or papers for others, such as students.

• Selling, copying, and purchasing assignments, papers, or exams from students to students, or researchers to researchers. It can also form the website to others.

• Submitting assignment, works, papers, or exams from the previous task to the new task.

• Copying audio, image, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, video, etc. without proper reference or citation.

Yet, here are ways to avoid plagiarism:

• Keeping track of the research before writing

• Paraphrasing or quoting correctly

• Double-checking after citing all of the sources.

Which rewrite of the passage corrects the most errors in spelling and grammar
boyakko [2]

Answer: D. The Battle of Gettysburg was a three-day conflict in which Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia faced off against George Meade's Army of the Potomac. Instead of fighting defensively, which had won Lee many victories, the Confederates made a disastrous charge against the Union center.

Explanation:

The best option is D as it corrects errors in spelling and grammar.

It corrected the ''one Lee...'' to ''won Lee...''.

It corrected the use of a lower case for Meade to an uppercase which is correct as Meade is the name of a person and so as a proper noun should always have its first letter capitalized.

It corrected the use of an upper case for ''Disastrous charge...'' to the lower case ''disastrous charge...'' which is correct because disastrous is not a noun in this instance.
