How do I write inequality notation from this graph?

Mathematics

<u>Domain:</u>

The domain is the set of x-values used by the graph.  Because the graph is connected, you can ask yourself the following:

"From how far left to how far right (with respect to the x-axis) does this graph go?"

In terms of x-values, the graph goes to -5 on the left and 2 on the right.  It gets to -5, but has open circles are 2.

-5≤x<2 would be the domain.

<u>Range:</u>

The range is the set of y-values used by the graph.  Because the graph is connected, you can ask yourself the following:

"From how far down to how far up (with respect to the y-axis) does this graph go?"

In terms of y-values, the graph goes to about -3 (or -3.2?) on the bottom and as high as 5.  Both of those values occur at open circles, so it never actually gets that low or that high.

-3<y<5 would be the range.

Both of those answers are assuming your scale is 1 on each axis.

Tpy6a [65]

Answer:

Option B k > 0

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

Observing the graph

The slope of the line is positive

The y-intercept is negative

we have

3y-2x=k(5x-4)+6\\ \\3y=5kx-4k+6+2x\\ \\3y=[5k+2]x+(6-4k)\\ \\y=\frac{1}{3}[5k+2]x+(2-\frac{4}{3}k)

The slope of the line is equal to

m=\frac{1}{3}[5k+2]

Remember that the slope must be positive

so

5k+2> 0\\ \\k > -\frac{2}{5}

The value of k is greater than -2/5

Analyze the y-intercept

(2-\frac{4}{3}k) < 0\\ \\ 2 < \frac{4}{3}k\\ \\1.5 < k\\ \\k > 1.5

1.5 is greater than zero

so

the solution for k is the interval ------> (1.5,∞)

therefore

must be true

k > 0

In the function f(t) = sin(t), what is the effect of multiplying t by a coefficient of 2?
liubo4ka [24]

Answer:

"changes the period to pi"

Step-by-step explanation:

f(t) = Sin(t),

Here, t is the period, by definition.

Multiply t by a number that is GREATER THAN 1, makes the period shorter and compressed.

Multiplying t by a number that is between 0 and 1 makes the period expanded.

For the first, if we multiply the period by a, the period becomes \frac{2\pi}{a}

Since the problem tells us to multiply by 2, we know the period becomes compressed and becomes :

\frac{2\pi}{2}=\pi

Third answer choice is right.

Ciara is naking a new outfit she needs 2 1/2 yards of the fabric for the shawl and 1 3/4 yards of fabric for the dress. If she h
valentina_108 [34]

Answer:

1 1/4 yards

$20

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount of fabric more that she needs can be determined by subtracting the sum of the yards needed for the shawl and the dress from the fabric she has

sum of the yards needed for the shawl and the dress =

2\frac{1}{2} + 1\frac{3}{4}

3\frac{2 + 3}{4} = 3\frac{5}{4} = 4\frac{1}{4}

Yards needed

4\frac{1}{4} - 3 = 1\frac{1}{4}

cost of dance outfit = $16 x 1\frac{1}{4}

\frac{5}{4} × $16  = $20
