Answer:

1.

PQ = 8

QS = 8 ( Q is the mid point of PS)

PS = ?

PQ + QS = PS

8 + 8 = PS

16 = PS

The length of PS is 16 inches

2.

OR = ?

PQ = 8

QS = 29

Let QR be x

QR + RS = QS  <em>(QR and RS are of same length because R is the midpoint of QS)</em>

2x = 29

x = 29/2

x = 14.5

The length of QR is 14.5 inches

3.

3x - 4 = QS

3x -4 = 29

3x = 29 + 4

3x = 33

x = 33/3

x = 11

57/100 whats the part whats the whole
Ostrovityanka [42]
Hey, so in a fraction, the whole is always going to be the 2nd or bottom part of it. Why? Well if you were to read it out loud, you may as well say it as 57 out of 100, meaning that 57 is the part.

The constant of variation based on the information is one half.

<h3>How to illustrate the information?</h3>

From the information given, when x is 2, y is 1, when x is 4, y is 2, etc.

Therefore, the constant of variation will be:

= y/x

= 1/2 = 2/4

= 1/2 = 1/2

Therefore, the constant of variation based on the information is one half.

A while back, either James borrowed $12 from his friend Rita or she borrowed $12 from him, but he can’t quite remember which. Ei
Tamiku [17]

Answer:

First option is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let amounts of money James may have after he sees Rita be x.

It is given that either James borrowed $12 from his friend Rita or she borrowed $12 from him.

So meeting Rita second time either he will $12 or he will receive $12.

The amounts of money James may have after second meeting with Rita is:

Case 1: If he pays $12.

x=42.80-12             .... (1)

Case 1: If he receives $12.

x=42.80+12           .... (2)

On combining equation (1) and (2), we get

x=42.80\pm 12

Subtract 42.80 from both sides.

x-42.80=\pm 12

It can be written as

|x-42.80|=12

Therefore first option is correct.

Find the slope of the line through each pair of points (-4, -8), (-18-10)
Darya [45]

Answer:

Slope of line = \frac{1}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have given two points,

(-4 ,-8) and ( - 18 , -10)

We need to find the slope of line passing through these two points.

i.e slope of line = \frac{y_{2} - y_{1}  }{x_{2} - x_{1}  }

Here y₂ = -10 , y₁ = -8 , x₂ = -18  and  x₁ = -4

Hence,

slope of line = \frac{-10 - (-8)  }{-18 - (-4)  } = \frac{-2}{-14}

Slope of line = \frac{1}{7}
