If two balls have the same mass, but ball P is twice as large as ball Q, which one will have the greater density?
likoan [24]

a. Ball P

<h3>What is density.</h3>

Density is define as mass per unit volume or the quantity per unit volume, unit area, or unit length.

If m_{1} is mass ,  V_{1} is volume and D_{1}  is density of ball P

m_{2}  is mass ,  V_{2} is volume and D_{2} is density  of ball Q

It is given that  ,

V_{1} = V_{2};

But  m_{1}= 2m_{2}

Based on above equation we have:

\frac{D_{1} }{D_{2} }  = (\frac{m_{1} }{V_{1} } )* (\frac{m_{2} }{V_{2} } )\\ \\= (\frac{2m_{2} }{V_{2} })*(\frac{V_{2} }{m_{2} }) \\\\= 2

Thus, density of ball P is twice that of Q.

Therefore ,

Ball  P will have a greater density than Q

What is the magnitude and direction of the force exerted on a 3.50 µC charge by a 250 N/C electric field that points due east? (
astra-53 [7]

Answer:

8.75×10⁻⁴ N. due east

Explanation:

Electric Field: This is defined as the force per unit charge which it exerts at that point. Its direction is the force exerted on a positive charge. The S.I unit of electric field is N/C.

The expression for electric field is given as,

E = F/q

where E = Electric field, F = Force, q = charge.

Making F the subject of the equation,

F = E×q.................... Equation 1

Given: E = 250 N/C, q = 3.5 µC = 3.5×10⁻⁶ C.

Substitute into equation 1

F = 250×3.5×10⁻⁶

F = 875×10⁻⁶

F = 8.75×10⁻⁴ N. due east

Hence the force is 8.75×10⁻⁴ N. due east
