hi <3

vertically opposite angles are equal so make both of them equal to each other

6x + 27 = 12x - 9

add 9 to both sides:

6x + 36 = 12x

subtract 6x from both sides:

6x = 36

divide both sides by 6:

x = 6

hope this helps :)

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

12x - 9 = 6x + 27    {Vertically opposite angles}

Add 9 to both sides

12x = 6x + 27 + 9

12x = 6x + 36

Subtract 6x from both sides

12x - 6x = 36

6x = 36

Divide both sides by 6

x = 36/6

x = 6

Evaluate g(4): g(x) = 8x2 + 9x – 7 A) 121 B) 135 C) 154 D) 157
Lunna [17]

Answer:

g(4) = 157

Step-by-step explanation:

Substitute 4 for x in g(x) = 8x^2 + 9x – 7, obtaining:

g(4) = 8(4)^2 + 9(4) - 7 = 128 + 36 - 7 = 157

One positive number is 3 more than twice another. If their product is 629, find the numbers.
Soloha48 [4]

Answer:

17,37

Step-by-step explanation:

one number = x

The positive number = 2x + 3

x * (2x+3) = 629

x*2x + x *3 = 629

2x² + 3x - 629 = 0

2x² - 34x + 37x - 17*37 =0

2x*(x -17) + 37(x - 17) = 0

(x - 17)(2x + 37) = 0

x - 17 = 0 ;     Ignore  2x + 37 as s is a positive number

x = 17

Positive number = 2*17 +3 = 34+3 = 37

How can we check the binomial factors to verify that they are truly factors? Are the factors (x + 5)(x – 8) truly factors of x2
gladu [14]
They are not. The easiest way to tell this is by multiplying the last number of each parenthesis together. This should always result in the last number in the equation. However, -8*5 does not equal -30, so these are not the true factors.
