\huge \boxed{\mathfrak{Question} \downarrow}

  • Evaluate the expression: -<u>15-|15-|-15||</u>

\large \boxed{\mathfrak{Answer \: with \: Explanation} \downarrow}

\sf \: -15- \left| 15-  \right|  -15 \left|   \right|

The absolute value of a real number 'a' is 'a' when \sf\:a\geq 0, or '-a' when a < 0. The absolute value of -15 is 15.

\sf \: -15-|15-15|

Subtract 15 from 15 to get 0.

\sf \: -15-|0|

The absolute value of a real number 'a' is 'a' when \sf\:a\geq 0, or '-a' when a < 0. The absolute value of 0 is 0.

\sf \: -15-0

Subtract 0 from -15 to get -15.

25. Point A on a coordinate grid is at (3, 4). If the point is reflected across the line
Nutka1998 [239]

Using translation concepts, the images of the points are given as follows:

25. (4,3).

26. (3,1).

<h3>What is a translation?</h3>

A translation is represented by a change in the function graph, according to operations such as multiplication or sum/subtraction either in it’s definition or in it’s domain. Examples are shift left/right or bottom/up, vertical or horizontal stretching or compression, and reflections over the x-axis or the y-axis.

The rule for a reflection across y = x is given by:

(x,y) -> (y,x).

Hence, in item 25:

The image of (3,4) is (4,3).

The rule for a reflection across y = -x is given by:

(x,y) -> (y,-x).

Hence, in item 26:

The image of (-1,3) is (3,1).

Pls help<br><br> Solve for x. 6x/4 −24=x−2
riadik2000 [5.3K]

Answer:

6x/4-24=x-2

6x/4-24/1=x-2

(6x/4)1-(24/1)4=x-2

6x/4-96/4=x-2

(6x-96)/4=(x-2)/1

Then cross multiply to get this;

(6x-96)1=(x-2)4

6x-96=4x-8

6x-96+96=4x-8+96

6x=4x+88

6x-4x=4x-4x+88

2x=88

Divide both sides by 2

2x÷2=88÷2

x=44

Thank you.

Simplify x^3- + x^2 + y^2
aleksley [76]
Hello, there!

<span>This is already simplified as there are no like terms that can be combined. x^3 is different than x^2, so it can't be combined.

x^3 is different from y^2 so it can't be combined.

And finally, x^2 is different from y^2, so it can't be combined either.
</span>

I hope I helped!

Let me know if you need anything else!
