A secretary was making name tags. She made each name tag from an index card which was cut into ¼ s. How many name tags can the s

ecretary make with 2 index cards?
A. 8 Since each card will be cut into 1/4s and there are four 1/4s in 1 we can multiply 4 by two since there are two index cards to get the total number of name tags she can make.

B. 2 ¼ The secretary has two index cards and cuts them into 1/4s. We can combine the whole number of cards with the fraction she will cut them into to get the number she will have when done.

C. 3/8 Since we have a fraction she will cut them into and a whole number of cards we need to get two fractions. By putting 2 over 4 we can add directly across.

D. ½ To get the total number of name tags the secretary can make out of two index cards we need to multiply the total number of index cards by the fraction she is going to cut them into.

Find the length of the third side. If necessary, write in simplest radical form.
Mazyrski [523]

Answer:

\boxed {\boxed {\sf 8}}

Step-by-step explanation:

This triangle has a small square, which represents a right angle. Therefore, we can use the Pythagorean Theorem.

a^2+b^2=c^2

Where <em>a</em> and <em>b </em> are the legs of the triangle and <em>c</em> is the hypotenuse.

In this triangle, 7 and √15 are the legs, because these sides make up the right angle. The unknown side is the hypotenuse, because it is opposite the right angle. So, we know two values:

a= 7 \\b= \sqrt{15}

Substitute these values into the formula.

(7)^2+(\sqrt{15})^2=c^2

Solve the exponents.

  • (7)²= 7*7=49

49+ (\sqrt{15})^2=c^2

  • (√15)²=√15*√15=15

49+15=c^2

Add.

64=c^2

Since we are solving for c, we must isolate the variable. It is being squared and the inverse of a square is the square root. Take the square root of both sides.

\sqrt{64}=\sqrt{c^2} \\\sqrt{64}= c\\8=c

The third side length is <u>8.</u>

ABC Corp. has outstanding accounts receivable totaling $6.5 million as of December 31 and sales on credit during the year of $24
Elden [556K]

Answer:

$378,000

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of the bad debt expense for the year is shown below:

Bad debt expense = Outstanding account receivable × estimated percentage given - credit balance of allowance for doubtful account

= $6,500,000 × 0.06 - $12,000

= $390,000 - $12,000

= $378,000

We simply deduct the credit balance from the estimated balance so that the correct amount could arrive
