Which relation is a function of x?

Mathematics

No need to look at the first two. It’s the third choice, the graph. Easily to tell if a graph is a function, draw lines down the x axis. A single line should not touch the line on the graph more than once. Also called the vertical line test. Therefore the answer is the graph. The first one is definitely wrong because all the x are the same. So if you were to draw a line down the x axis at 0, that line would touch all points there.

Which of the graphs best represents a system of equations that has no solution?
Lesechka [4]
When the lines are parallel then there is no solution to the system of equations.
This happens because the intersection is the solution. And when there is no intersection then there is no solution.

An apartment rents for $800 a month the monthly rent is expected to increase $15 each year what will the rent at the end of the
Nataly [62]
To find this you would do 800 + 15x where x is the amount of years.

For 9 years it would be 800 + 15(9) which is 800 + 135.

At the end of 9 years, the apartment's rent would be $935. I hope that's utilities included because... yikes...

Autumn is working two summer jobs making $16 per hour tutoring and making $12 per hour landscaping.In a giving week she can work
Darya [45]

Answer:

{13,14}

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x ----> number of hours per week of tutoring

y ----> number of hours per week of landscaping

we know that

She can work no more than 17 hours

so

x+y\leq 17 -----> inequality A

She must earn at lest $240

The term " at least" means, "greater than or equal to"

16x+12y\geq 240 ----> inequality B

If Autumn worked 3 hours landscaping

then

y=3\ hours

substitute in the inequality A and in the inequality B

<em>Inequality A</em>

x+3\leq 17\\x \leq 17-3\\x\leq 14\ hours

Inequality B

16x+12(3)\geq 240\\16x\geq 240-36\\x\geq 12.75\ hours

The solution of the system is the interval {12.75,14]

All possible values for the number of whole hours tutoring that she must work to meet her requirements are
