Oscar would like to go to a movie without supervision. To try and get what he wants, he starts by asking his mom if he can go on
baherus [9]

Answer:

Door in face

Explanation:

In psychology, the door in face technique is a method of persuasion according to which the persuader tries to convince other person to comply to a large request (which the other person will likely say no to), then, the persuader makes a significantly smaller request and then the other person is likely to say yes.

It's been observed that using this technique the other person is most likely to accept the smaller request than if the request had been presented by its own at first (without the large request first).

In this example, Oscar wants to go to the movies by himself, however he asks his mom if he can go on a trip to the Rollercoaster Park and he already knows the answer will be no. We  can see that<u> Oscar is making a </u><u>large</u><u> request and that his mom will say no to this one, but this wasn't even what Oscar really wants to do.</u> However, after this is asked, <u>he asks if he can at least go to the movies by himself (and which is what he actually wanted to ask)</u>. This second request is significantly smaller than the first one and her mom says yes. Therefore, this is an example of the door-in-face technique.

resistance by political parties to mobilizing disengaged americans to vote because their lack of involvement makes their allegia
Oliga [24]

Based on the Political Science definition, resistance by political parties to mobilizing disengaged Americans to vote because their lack of involvement makes their allegiance to one or the other party suspect creates a "<u>Circle of Nonparticipation."</u>

This is because there are certain Americans that hardly participate in the elections. These people are often termed as nonparticipants.

Most of the time, these people only participate during federal elections or on issues closely affecting them. These people are sometimes considered uninvolved.

However, in a situation whereby the political parties resist mobilizing the disengaged Americans to vote, this action tends to reinforce their nonparticipation attitude, therefore creating a Circle of Nonparticipation among them.

Hence, in this case, it is concluded that the correct answer is "Circle of Nonparticipation."
