Using the empirical rule for a normal distribution. the required interval is within plus and minus two standard deviations from the mean:
62.5 - 36 = 26.5.
62.5 + 36 = 98.5.
The interval is (26.5, 98.5).

The correct answer is:

(26.5, 98.5)

Explanation:

The empirical rule states that in a normal distribution, 68% of data fall within one standard deviation of the mean; 95% of data fall within two standard deviations of the mean; and 99.7% of data fall within three standard deviations of the mean.

Since we want 95% of the data, that means our data will fall within 2 standard deviations. Since the standard deviation is 18, two standard deviations will be 2*18 = 36.

Two standard deviations below the mean will be 62.5-36 = 26.5.

Two standard deviations above the mean will be 62.5+36 = 98.5.

This makes the interval (26.5, 98.5).

What amount of money do you have if you have 5 pennies, 13 nickels, 14 dimes, 2 quarters, and one 5 dollar bill?
BartSMP [9]

Answer:

$7.60

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Penny = $0.01
  • Nickel = $0.05
  • Dime = $0.10
  • Quarter = $0.25

( 5 × 0.01 ) + ( 13 × 0.05 ) + ( 14 × 0.10 ) + ( 2 × 0.25 ) + 5

                -The 5 at the end represents the one five dollar bill.

Simplified: (solve what is in the parenthesis)

0.05 + 0.65 + 1.4 + 0.50 + 5 = $7.60

250 = 167.93 + x

[She needs $250, she has $167.93, and she needs x more. x represents the amount of money she still needs in order to get 250]

250 = 167.93 + x Subtract 167.93 on both sides

250 - 167.93 = 167.93 + x - 167.93

250 - 167.93 = x

82.07 = x

She needs $82.07 more

Or you could have done:

250 - 167.93 = 82.07
