Positive Consequences :

The top benefit of pesticides is their effectiveness against pests that would otherwise decimate crops large and small. By controlling insects and rodents, pesticides prevent the spread of disease and protect buildings from termite infestations. Pesticides also keep the price of clothing and food down by eliminating predators that would destroy crops, raising the cost of things like corn and cotton. Even surgical instruments and operating rooms are disinfected with pesticides, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. By utilizing pesticides often, farmers are able to keep several pests at bay and even help eliminate several altogether. This has enabled them to grow diverse crops and coupled with fertilizer usage they are able to grow larger amount of food crops, within shorter periods of time.

Negative Consequences :

Pesticides have been linked with deleterious effects on human health and that of the environment. Children exposed to pesticides have increased rates of leukemia and brain cancer, and pregnant women with exposure have higher miscarriage rates, according to the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment. Pesticides may also damage the lungs and nervous system. In nature, pesticides pollute the air, water and ground. As a result, plant and animal life may die or become sick and malformed. Pesticides can cause short-term adverse health effects, called acute effects, as well as chronic adverse effects that can occur months or years after exposure. Examples of acute health effects include stinging eyes, rashes, blisters, blindness, nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and death.

Hope it helps!

Peer pressure to understand how it can influence your behavior.
Lana71 [14]
Peer pressure is basically what it sounds like: pressure from peers. Many people make the automatic assumption that peer pressure is bad, but it many cases it can be good. Peer pressure can help you achieve your goals, help you feel better, or get into an activity.

However, peer pressure can also turn you for the worse. You know- when all your friends do it, you do it too. But that ac on could be dangerous. When someone else does something, it makes you feel that you are allowed to do it too- it has influenced you.

When many people do it, it also influences harshly. You don't want to feel left out or be called a chicken, so peer pressure will kick in.
