One argument against the claim that Julius Caesar destroyed the Roman Republic is that he changed the constitution.

Julius Caesar was a very powerful dictator in ancient Rome. He got into the realm of power through his alliance with Pompey and Crassus.

As a Roman ruler he made several reforms to the Roman Constitution. He passed tax laws that benefitted the poor people. They were able to have ownership of lands and also means of survival.
