Answer:

a : b = 25 : 9

Step-by-step explanation:

(3a - 5b) : (3a + 5b) = 1 : 4

Product of extremes = product  of  means

(3a - 5b) *4 = (3a +5b) * 1    {Distributive property}

3a * 4  - 5b*4 = 3a + 5b

12a - 20b = 3a + 5b

Add 20b to both sides

12a = 3a + 5b + 20b

12a = 3a + 25b

Subtract 3a from both sides

12a - 3a = 25b

9a = 25b

\dfrac{a}{b}=\dfrac{25}{9}

a:b = 25 : 9

What is the antiderivative of 3x/((x-1)^2)
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer:

3 ln(x − 1) − 3/(x − 1) + C

Step-by-step explanation:

∫ 3x / (x − 1)² dx

3 ∫ x / (x − 1)² dx

If u = x − 1, then x = u + 1, and du = dx.

3 ∫ (u + 1) / u² du

3 ∫ (1/u + 1/u²) du

3 (ln u − 1/u + C)

3 ln u − 3/u + C

Substitute back:

3 ln(x − 1) − 3/(x − 1) + C

I need help with this question plzzz <br><br> Geometry
KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

  • If the perimeter of a square measures 32 cm, each side measures 32/4= 8 cm, because all sides are equal.
  • The diagonal that passes through the center of the square divides the square into two triangles. The triangles are formed by a <u>hypotenuse </u>(the diagonal, which is k in this case), <u>and two sides,</u> that measure 8 cm each, in this case.
  • Because of Pythagoras' theorem, we know that the <u>lenght of the hypotenuse</u> (in this case the hypotenuse is k) equals the squared root of the sum of the squared sides, which in this case can be expressed as k=\sqrt{8^2+8^2} =\sqrt{64+64}=\sqrt{128}=11.31.
  • Then, k=11.31 cm.
