Susan suffered from a heart attack. when the doctors tested the heart muscle they found that she had an increased ratio of lacti

c acid to pyruvic acid in her heart. what does this say about the availability of oxygen in her heart muscle cells? the heart cells must have received too much oxygen. the heart cells had not received adequate oxygen supply. the heart cells had a build up of carbon dioxide, poisoning her cells. the heart cells had too much carbon dioxide build up.

Answer:

The heart cells had not received adequate oxygen supply.

Explanation:

Lactic acid is the result of a fermentation process that is happening in Susan's heart muscle. Fermentation is a process that occurs only in anaerobic environments, that is, environments with absence of oxygen. For this reason, we can conclude that the increased ratio of lactic acid to pyruvic acid in the heart of susan occurred due to the inadequate supply of oxygen to the heart cells.

This is fairly simple. For her heart cells to have so much carbon dioxide built up, that means her heart cells weren't recieving enough of an oxygen supply.

Which of the following disciplines did Darwin draw information from in order to found the field of evolutionary biology and deve
Elan Coil [88]

Answer:

b) Systematics

Explanation:

Darwin presented the theory of evolution and explained that the process of evolution occured because of natural selection which further explains that offsprings are produced from organisms and these organisms are able to survive in their environment.

As systematics is the branch of biology, which basically deals with evolutionary relationships of the organisms .Thus the darwin theory of evolution will be considered in the field of systematics.

Hence the option B) Systematics is the right option.

I'd say A. Because the only data we have is that at a 5.4 pH level, flies are not welcome.

Hope it helped!

In many eukaryotic cells, DNA stored in the nucleus is transcribed into messenger RNA. The mRNA is then transported into the cyt
ki77a [65]

Answer:

The statement supported by the description of the process of protein synthesis determined by DNA and its packaging and sorted by the Golgi apparatus is that various organelles within a cell interact with each other to carry out life processes (option D).

Explanation:

From the transcription of RNA from DNA to protein synthesis and its packaging and distribution, the participation of organelles is observed:

  • Cell nucleus: contains the DNA and is where the transcription into mRNA occurs.
  • Ribosomes: where the mRNA is coupled to produce translation and protein synthesis.
  • Rough endoplasmic reticulum: contains ribosomes and participates in the process of membrane protein synthesis, also contributing to their conjugation, glycosylation or sulfonation.
  • Golgi apparatus: it is in charge of receiving synthesized proteins, packaging and distributing them to be sent to the extracellular space or other cells.

In this way, the coordination of the functions of various organelles is useful and necessary to fulfill vital functions. The statement that varoius organelles within the cell interact with each other to carry out life processes is, therefore, correct.

The options for this question are:

     A. Organelles within a cell act independently of each other at all times

     B. Some organelles are more important than other organelles within a cell.

    C. Only up to three organelles may interact with each other at any given moment in time.

    D. Various organelles within a cell interact with each other to carry out life processes.
