Mama L [17]

Answer:  ($143.69, $156.31)

Step-by-step explanation:

Confidence interval to estimate  population mean :

\overline{x}\ \pm z\dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

, where \sigma = population standard deviation

n= sample size

\overline{x}= Sample mean

z= critical value.

As per given,

n= 40

\sigma = $15.50

\overline{x}= $150

Critical value for 99% confidence level = 2.576

Then, 99% confidence interval for the population mean:

150\pm(2.576)\dfrac{15.50}{\sqrt{40}}\\\\\Rightarrow\ 150\pm6.31  \ \ (approx)\\\\\Rightarrow(150-6.31,150+6.31)=(143.69,156.31)

Hence, the required confidence interval : ($143.69, $156.31)

Bogdan [553]

Answer:

Probability that both numbers are odd =2/9

Step-by-step explanation:

Odd numbers are numbers such that, when they divide 2, there is a remainder.

Ten slips of paper numbered 1 through 10 are placed in a bag.

In number one to ten, the odd numbers are 1, 3,5,7 and 9

They all divide 2 and leaves a remainder.

Total number of odd numbers is 5

Total number of both odd and even numbers from one through 10 is 10

Probability of picking an odd number

= number of odd numbers/ total numbers.

Probability of picking an odd number

= 5/10= 1/2

Probability of picking another odd number without replacement is 4/9

Probability that both numbers are odd = 1/2 × 4/9 =2/9

1188 = π<em>r</em>²<em>h</em>

For the formula to solve for <em>h, </em>you have to change the equation to:

<em>h </em>= 1188/π<em>r</em>²

which is just moving h to the left side of the equation, and moving v(in this case 1188) to the right side.

because <em>h </em>was multiplied to the original equation, switching sides in an equation makes its replacement(1188) into a devision. (if you move a number across the = sign, the number will become the opposite of itself.)

Since you don't know the radius, you can't simplify this equation.

The answer is <em>h </em>= 1188/π<em>r</em>²
