Answer:

-10

Step-by-step explanation:

I dont want you to "Literally die" so heres the explaination:

The absolute value mean always a positive number. So if a number is positive and it has the absolute value symbol next to it then it is positive. If the number is negative than it become positive. With that say, we can began to solve our linear equation.

We shoudl first isolate the variable so let's subtract the number 8 from BOTH SIDES. So now we should have -24=-12(k/5)

Now we will use the disributive property. this will give us:

-24=(-12k/5)

BUT WAIT!! THE ABSOLUTE VALUE RULE MUST BE APPLIED!!

Therefore it should be -24=12k/5

Now we can just solve this regularly:

Keep reading if you don't know how to solves linear equations.

Multiply 5 to both sides:

-120=12k

k=-10

Vinvika [58]

The correlation coefficient for the data in the table was found to be 0.93.

The correct option is A.

<h3>What is the correlation coefficient?</h3>

The correlation coefficient focuses on the linear relationship between two variables.

Given

The first column is labeled time spent at the dentist (in hours) with entries 1.4, 2.7, 0.75, 1.6.

The second column is labeled bill amount (in dollars) with entries 235, 867, 156, 215.

The numbers between -1 and 1 should be one of the values related to the bill.

Taking the independent variable or input variable as, the time a patient spends at the dentist and the dependent variable or output variable as the amount of the bill.

Hence, The correlation coefficient for the data in the table was found to be 0.93.

Hey there! :)

Answer:

First option: As x⇒ ∞ f(x) ⇒ -∞.  As x⇒ -∞ f(x) ⇒ ∞.

Step-by-step explanation:

Rearrange the equation:

f(x) = -x³ - 2x² + 1

This is a negative cubic function. The function decreases over the interval

(-∞, ∞). Therefore:

As x⇒ ∞ f(x) ⇒ -∞.

As x⇒ -∞ f(x) ⇒ ∞.

This is the first option.
