They should care about it but they choose not to because of their carelessness. Although, something in life could be happening to them that can cause them to change dramatically. Or, if they play a lot of video games, their minds will most likely only be focused on that. Sometimes teen boys don't understand such simple things that others can because they haven't gone through what others have or because they're not the same as them, physically, meaning that they can be a different gender or they could have some sort of disability (people with disabilities are not stupid.
