Key people in Judaism are: Abraham, Moses and king David. God told Abraham to leave his home in Mesopotamia and to settle in Canaan. A leader named Moses led his people out of slavery in Egypt in a journey called Exodus.
The Hebrews believed that they:

- God was fair and just.
In the south, the passage jim crow laws in the 1870s led directly to the restriction of basic human and civil rights for African Americans, since these laws led to segregation, the stripping of voting rights, and more.
