To  solve for Simple interest, we use the formula:

I = Principal x Rate x Time(year)

where:

I = Simple interest = ?

Principal = $2,350

Rate = Rate on Interest = 3.77% = 0.0377

Time = 15 months, we have to convert 15months to year

12 months = 1 year

15 months = ?

Cross multiply

= 15 x 1/12

= 1.25 year

The Simple interest is calculated as:

$2350 x 0.0377 x 1.25

= $110.74375

Approximately = $110.74

Therefore, the simple interest on $2,350 is $110.74

An item is regularly priced at $40. It is on sale for 30% off the regular price. What is the sale price?
morpeh [17]

40$ - 100% (full price)

x$ - 70% (100-30=70%)

40 * 70 = 100x

2800 = 100x

x = 28

Answer 28$

or

40$ = 100%

then 1% = 40/100 = 0.4$

so 70% will be 0.4 * 70 = 28$

Encuentren dos números cuyo cociente sea -1 y que la resta del primero menos el segundo sea -3/2
miskamm [114]

Answer:

\dfrac{3}{4}\ \text{and}\ \dfrac{-3}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

Find two numbers whose quotient is -1 and the subtraction of the first minus the second is -3/2

Let two numbers are x and y. When they are divided the quotient is -1. So,

\dfrac{x}{y}=-1

It can also be written as :

x = -y ....(1)

The subtraction of first minus the second is -3/2 .

x-y=\dfrac{-3}{2}\ .....(2)

Use equation (1) in (2),

-y-y=\dfrac{-3}{2}\\\\-2y=\dfrac{-3}{2}\\\\y=\dfrac{3}{4}

From equation (1) : x=\dfrac{-3}{4}

Hence, two numbers are \dfrac{3}{4}\ \text{and}\ \dfrac{-3}{4}.

Marissa can but 3 oranges for $1.35, 4 oranges for $1.80, or 5 oranges for $2.25. Marissa can buy 10 oranges for a price that fi
nikklg [1K]
From 3 oranges to 4 oranges, you're adding 45¢. Therefore, 1 orange is 45¢. You can then multiply 45 by 10 to get 450¢, which is $4.50. $4.25 is less than $4.50, so not following the pattern is cheaper. Hope this helps!
