Answer:

A___B___C

AC = AB + BC

39 = [ 4(x+5) ] + (2x +1)

39 = (4x + 20) + ( 2x +1)

39 = 6x + 21

6x = 39 - 21

6x = 18

x = 18/6

x = 3

AB = 4( x +5) = 4x + 20 = 4(3) + 20 = 12 + 20 = 32

I hope I helped you^_^

1. ABCD is a trapezoid with midsegment EF. If AB = 12 and CD = 24, what is the length of EF?
natali 33 [55]
For all of these answers, the equation used was (AB + CD)/2 = EF

1.12+24=36    36/2=18
2. 21 + 35 = 56    56/2 = 28
3. (7 + EF)/2 = 9
    multiply by 2
   7 + EF = 18
   subtract 7
EF = 11

4. (AB + 32)/2 = 22
Multiply by 2
AB + 32 = 44
Subract 32
AB = 12
