Step-by-step explanation:

You're asking why

{- 2(x + 3y) = 18} = y =  - 3 -  \frac{x}{3}

let's transpose the first equation for y

-2x-6y=18

-6y=18+2x

6y=-18-2x

y=-18/6-2x/6

y=-3-⅓x as required

For this I would isolate y from the beginning.

Heres how I would solve it:

-2(x + 3y) = 18 --> 18 divided by (-2) is (-9), so (x + 3y) must be equal to (-9)

x + 3y = -9 --> now I would begin to isolate for y:

3y = -9 -x

y =  (-9-x) ÷ 3 --> dividing each term by 3 would give me:

y = -3 - x/3 --> x stays the same because it doesn't have a definite answer.

Hope this helps (〃▽〃)

First Data Corp. records indicate that in 2005, 43% of adult email users received a phishing email. A phishing email replicates
ra1l [238]

Answer:

P(x) = 45/100 = 0.45

Mean sample distribution = probability x number sampled by the survey.

Mean sample distribution = 0.45 x 800 = 360.00 to two decimal places.

Step-by-step explanation:

Convert the percentage to decimal probability.

45%. P(x) = 45/100 = 0.45

If there are ranges of probability values, we construct a probability distribution table. This is not necessary in the case of one probability value(45%)

Multiply the probability by the number adults to be surveyed on whether they have received phishing emails.

0.45 x 800 = 360.

Here, we assume that the 45% recorded by 2005 data, is still valid for the recent trends.

umka21 [38]

Answer:

The correct answer is \frac{2}{9}.

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 135 people in a sport centre.

Let the experiment be to pick a person from the sport centre who only uses exactly one of the facilities.

Total number of possible outcomes = 135

For the gym:

77 people use the gym.

27 people use the gym and the pool.

31 people use the gym and the track.

4 people use all three facilities.

Total number of people using only the gym are 77 - ( 27 + 31 + 4) = 15

For the swimming pool:

62 people use the swimming pool.

27 people use the gym and the pool.

23 people use the pool and the track.

4 people use all three facilities.

Total number of people using only the swimming pool are 62 - ( 27 + 23 + 4) = 8

For the tracks:

65 people use the track.

23 people use the pool and the track.

31 people use the gym and the track.

4 people use all three facilities.

Total number of people using only the tracks are 65 - ( 23 + 31 + 4) = 7

A person is selected at random.

Favorable outcomes = 7 + 8 + 15 = 30

Probability that the person uses exactly one of the facilities = \frac{Favorable}{Total} = \frac{30}{135} = \frac{2}{9}.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Use Pythagorean theorem

Base² + altitude² = hypotenuse²

Base² + 7² = 20²

Base² + 49 = 400

Base² = 400 - 49 = 351

Base = √351 = 18.73 = 18.7 mm
