The number of trucks calculated using system of equations is 30

Let :

Number of trucks = a

Number of cars = b

Charge per car = $4

Charge per truck = $6

We could form a system of equation thus:

  • a + b = 200 - - (1)
  • 6a + 4b = 860 - - (2)

From (1)

b = 200 - a

  • Substitute b = 200 - a in (2)

6a + 4(200 - a) = 860

6a + 800 - 4a = 860

2a = 860 - 800

2a = 60

a = 30

Therefore, the Number of trucks is 30
