By definition and according to Google:

"Irrational numbers<span> cannot be represented as terminating or repeating decimals."

So the answer to your question would have to be 'no' as calculators were designed to give us approximate answers when dealing with irrational numbers.

It would be hard to guess whether a large number produced by a calculator is irrational or not given that fact that many rational numbers can be incredibly long.

Which algerbraic expression is not equivalent to 13x + 10
atroni [7]
There are no common factors between the two terms
13
x
and
10
- see explanation below.
Explanation:
First, we can try factoring the constants in each term:
13 is a prime number and therefore can only be factored to 1 and 13.
10 can be factored as (1 x 10) or (2 x 5).
Because there are no common factors other than
1
the constants cannot be factored.
And, because there is no
x
in the second term (10), we cannot factor an
x
out of the two terms.
Therefore this expression cannot be factored.

Answer:

(2x)(2x)(2x)(2x)

Step-by-step explanation:

I assume the 4 is an exponent.

(2x)^4 = (2x)(2x)(2x)(2x)

Use the initial term and the recursive formula to find an explicit formula for the sequence an. Write your answer in simplest fo
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Answer:

a_n = -11-14n

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

a_1 = -25

a_n = a_{n-1}-14

Required

The explicit formula

First, calculate a_2

Set n=2; So:

a_2 = a_{2-1}-14

a_2 = a_{1}-14

Substitute -25 for a_1

a_2 = -25-14

a_2 = -39

Calculate the common difference (d)

d = a_2 - a_1

d = -39 --25

d = -14

So, the nth term is:

a_n = a_1 + (n - 1)d

a_n = -25+ (n - 1)*-14

Open bracket

a_n = -25-14n + 14

Collect like terms

a_n = 14-25-14n

a_n = -11-14n
