A compound inequality is used to combined multiple inequalities.

  • <em>The compound inequality is: </em>12 \le 6x \le 36<em>.</em>
  • <em>The solution to the compound inequality is: </em>2 \le x \le 6<em />

We have:

12 \le A \le 36

Length = 2x

Width = 3

The area of the rectangle is:

A = Length \times Width

So, we have:

A =2x \times 3

A = 6x

Substitute 6x for A in 12 \le A \le 36

12 \le 6x \le 36

Divide through by 6

2 \le x \le 6

Hence,

  • The compound inequality is: 12 \le 6x \le 36.
  • The solution to the compound inequality is: 2 \le x \le 6

We must find UNIQUE combinations because choosing a,b,c,d... is the same as d,c,b,a...etc.  For this type of problem you use the "n choose k" formula...

n!/(k!(n-k)!), n=total number of choices available, k=number of choices made..

In this case:

20!/(10!(20-10)!)

20!/(10!*10!)

Write the coordinates of the vertices after a reflection over the x-axis. 1072
Liula [17]

The reflection about x-axis results in same x coodinate with oppositive of y coordinate. It can be expressed as,

(x,y)\rightarrow(x,-y)

Determine the coordinates of the vertices after reflection over the x-axis.

Q(6,-8)\rightarrow Q^{\prime}(6,8)R(7,-8)\rightarrow R^{\prime}(7,8)S(7,-5)\rightarrow Q^{\prime}(7,5)T(6,-5)\rightarrow T^{\prime}(6,5)

Lady bird [3.3K]

\frac{PQ}{PR} = \frac{RS}{QS} → \frac{PR}{PQ} = \frac{QS}{RS}

the ratio of PR to QS is 1:1 because they are congruent (equal)

If you draw a picture, you will see that PQRS is a parallelogram.

OlgaM077 [116]

14.5% = 0.145

Step-by-step explanation:

The term 'percent' (%) actually means per 100. So when you say 14.5% it means 14.5 per 100. So when you put that into an equation it actually means:

So when you solve it, 14.5% is actually 0.145 and not 14.5.

Your friend is then incorrect because:

14.5% ≠ 14.5
