Severe drought may cause species like the Joshua tree, desert tortoise, and desert bighorn sheep to shift their ranges to higher elevations that receive more rainfall. As the climate becomes warmer and drier, these species may shift to higher and higher elevations within the park.

1. What types of geological events or changes occur at divergent plate boundaries?
lorasvet [3.4K]

Thanks for the question,

  1. The molten rock from the cloth exploded next to the hole, forming a new crust. Earthquakes occur in these areas, called distribution centers, are minimal. The Great Rift Valley in Africa, the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden were all formed as a result of the movement of various plates.
  2. The changing plate border is the area where two tectonic plates move to each other, often causing one plate to slide under the other. A collision of tectonic plates could lead to earthquakes, mountains, mountain construction, and other geological events.
  3. When two tectonic plates slide past each other, the area where they meet is a rotating or lateral error. The San Andreas Fault is one of the best examples of lateral plate movement.
  4. The air, water, and ice erode and shape the earth. Volcanic activity and earthquakes are changing the landscape in a dramatic and often violent way. And with more time, the movement of the plates of the earth also exposes the oceans and continents. (Check the image for evidence)

What is a glacier? How could a massive chunk of ice carve out valleys and create lakes? Explain what glaciation means and identi
svlad2 [7]

Answer:

Glaciers not only transport material as they move, but they also sculpt and carve away the land beneath them. A glacier's weight, combined with its gradual movement, can drastically reshape the landscape over hundreds or even thousands of years. The ice erodes the land surface and carries the broken rocks and soil debris far from their original places, resulting in some interesting glacial landforms.

This passage is mainly about
N76 [4]

Answer:

This passage is mainly about asteroids striking Earth.

Explanation:

The presented passage is mostly focusing on asteroids striking Earth. It is something that has been happening since Earth has formed, and it will happen in the future as well. The vast majority of the asteroids don't really have any impact on Earth, but some have an impact that is devastating and long-lasting.

In the earlier stages of Earth, many more asteroids were falling on the surface, and the main reason for that has been the lack of atmosphere or a very thin atmosphere. As the atmosphere started to take shape and became similar to what is nowadays, the asteroid impacts decreased significantly because the atmosphere was managing to burn them and break them apart. This is not possible with all asteroids though, as some are so big and fall under an angle where the atmosphere doesn't really have any impact on them so when they fall on the surface they are able to cause sudden climatic changes, mass devastation, and mass extinction of species. Such an asteroid will be in a direction to hit Earth in the future for sure, the question remains will humans with their technology be able to prevent an impact or not.
