The answer would be 20. PEMDAS would have you do multiplication first which makes you do 3 times 7. 3 times 7 would give you 21 and then you minus 1 which gives you 20

Is (-3,4) a solution of the inequality y> - 2x – 3?
jeyben [28]

Answer:

  (-3, 4) is a solution

Step-by-step explanation:

The point (-3, 4) is inside the shaded area of the graph, so is a solution.

You can check in the inequality

  y > -2x -3

  4 > -2(-3) -3 . . . . substitute for x and y

  4 > 3 . . . . . . . true; the given point is a solution

State the horizontal asymptote of the rational function. For full credit, explain the reasoning you used to find the horizontal
Klio2033 [76]

to find the vertical asymptote, set the denominator equal to zero and solve for x.

to find the horizontal asymptote, only evaluate the terms in the numerator and denominator that have the biggest exponent. Use the following rules (m is the exponent of the numerator and n is the exponent of the denominator):

m > n, then y = ∞ so there is no asymptote

m = n, then simplify the coefficients to determine the asumptote

m < n, then y = \frac{1}{infinity} so the asymptote is y = 0

\frac{x^{2} + 3x - 2}{x - 2}

m = 2, n = 1 ⇒ m > n so y = ∞

Answer: there is no horizontal asymptote

Which expressions are equivalent to 6 + 12x?<br> Select each equivalent expression.
inysia [295]

Answer:

2 (3 + 6x), 3 (2 + 4x) and 6 (1 + 2x)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the expression 6 + 12x.

The following functions are equivalent;

Factoring out common number;

For 2;

2(3) + 2(6x)

2 (3 + 6x)

Factoring out 3;

3(2) + 3(4x)

3 (2 + 4x)

Factoring out 6;

6(1) + 6(2x)

6 (1 + 2x)

Hence the possible equivalent expressions are 2 (3 + 6x), 3 (2 + 4x) and 6 (1 + 2x)
