Not only does she offer the free black a partnership, but she is willing to do so for free. This is generousity. She doesn't have to do any of this. This is also selflessness. She is not thinking about the negative consequences when she gets a free black partner with her shop. From the context of how the paragraph was written, using the term 'free black', this might have been a unique situation. She is being openminded as well. Letting someone with very few opportunities have a great chance of becoming successful.
