In the given graph :

y - intercept of the line (c) is :

  • 2

let's find slope (m) :

  • \dfrac{y_2 - y_1 }{x_2 - x_1 }

  • \dfrac{2 - 0}{0 - 1}

  • - 2

now, let's equate it with general equation to find the equation of line,

  • y = mx + c

m = -2

c = 2

therefore, the equation of line will be :

  • y = -2x + 2

Since x=8y, subsitute 8y for x in other equation

y=6x-11
y=6(8y)-11
y=48y-11
minus y both sides
0=47y-11
add 11 to both sides
11=47y
divide both sides by 47
\frac{11}{47}=y
subsitute taht for y to find x

x=8y
x=8(\frac{11}{47})
x=\frac{88}{47}

x=\frac{88}{47}
y=\frac{11}{47}
in (x,y) form
(x,y)
(\frac{88}{47},\frac{11}{47})

Solve the equation. \dfrac32 + b = \dfrac74 2 3  +b= 4 7  start fraction, 3, divided by, 2, end fraction, plus, b, equals, sta
Xelga [282]

Given:

The equation is

\dfrac{3}{2}+b=\dfrac{7}{4}

To find:

The value of b.

Solution:

We have,

\dfrac{3}{2}+b=\dfrac{7}{4}

Subtracting both sides by \dfrac{3}{2}, we get

b=\dfrac{7}{4}-\dfrac{3}{2}

b=\dfrac{7-2(3)}{4}

b=\dfrac{7-6}{4}

b=\dfrac{1}{4}

Therefore, the value of b is \dfrac{1}{4}.

If R is the midpoint of PS with PR = 7x + 23 and RS= 13x-19 then find PS
Rainbow [258]

If R is the midpoint of PS, then PR = RS -- (1)

Also, PR + RS = PS -- (2)

__________________

PR + RS = PS

7x + 23 + 13x - 19 = PS

__________________

Now, PR = PS

7x + 23 = 13x - 19

7x - 13x = -19 - 23

-6x = -42

x = -42/-6

x = 7

__________________

PS = 7x + 23 + 13x - 19

PS = 7(7) + 23 + 13(7) - 19

PS = 49 + 23 + 91 - 19

<u>PS </u><u>=</u><u> </u><u>1</u><u>4</u><u>4</u><u> </u>

Hope it helps!
