The answer is -403

The order of operations puts multiplication before subtraction. -1 x 372= -372, and -372-31= -403

Answer:   The correct answer is:  " - 341 " .

____________

Step-by-step explanation:

____________

  -1 × 372 − -31 =

 (-1 *372) −(-31) =

 (-1*372)  + 31 ;   {since "subtracting a negative value" is the same value as "adding that value's positive value"} ;

           = - 372 + 31

          =  - 341

____________

The answer is:  " - 341 " .

____________

<u>Note</u>:  Using the "Order of Operation rules":

 PE MD AS ;

 "<u>P</u>lease <u>E</u>xcuse <u>M</u>y <u>D</u>ear <u>A</u>unt <u>S</u>ally" ; →  "mnemonic device" ;

In which "Parentheses" (if they occur) are considered first;

              then:  "<u>E</u>xponents" (if they occur):

              then:  "<u>M</u>ultiplication and <u>D</u>ivision" (if any of these occur; from the left of the equation—and continuing to the right of the equation—in the order in which they occur; neither the multiplication nor the division take priority over each other);

              then:  "<u>A</u>ddition and <u>S</u>ubtraction: (if any of these occur; from the left of the equation—and continuing to the right of the equation—in the order in which they occur; neither the addition nor the subtraction take priority over each other).

____________

We are given the expression:

____________

   →  " -1 × 372  −  -31 " ;

____________

Note, there are no "parentheses" or "exponents";

There is "one" multiplication but no "division".

There is "no" addition; but there is "one" subtraction.

so, the multiplication comes first:

 →  " -1 *372  =  -372 ;

Now, let us continue with the "one" subtraction that remains:

"  -372  −  -31 " ;

→  {Note that "subtracting a negative value" is the same value as

                          "adding that value's positive value"} ;

So, " - 372 −  -31  =  -372 + 31  =  - 341 . "

____________

The correct answer is: " - 341 " .

____________

Hope this helps!

Wishing you the best!

suppose you go to a concert and purchase 3 identical t-shirts and a hat. the hat cost $21 and you spend $60 in all how much does
Marianna [84]
Ok, first you subtract 21 from 60.
That gives you 39, so you then divide that by 3.
That gives you 13, so each t-shirt cost $13.
Hope this helps

T.L Hanna High School’s theatre department is putting on their annual play. Tickets (t) are $12 each. Parking is $5 flat. You an
GalinKa [24]

Answer:

No. of ticket bought is 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the no. of ticket bought be x

Given cost of 1 ticket = $12

Therefore cost x ticket = x*cost of 1 ticket = x*$12 = $12x

parking fee = $5

given that it is flat so, whatever be the no. of ticket bought or family member,

the parking cost will remain $5 only.

Total money paid by family  = parking charge + cost x ticket = 5+12x

But , given that family paid total of $53

then

5 + 12x = 53

=> 12x = 53-5 = 48

=> x = 48/12 = 4

Thus, no. of ticket bought is 4.

This can be validated as  shown below

cost of 4 ticket as 12 each will be = 12*4 = 48

thus total money paid = $(48+5 )= $53

<h3>Answer:   ASA</h3>

Explanation:

The arc markings for each angle show that we have two pairs of congruent angles (angle O = angle Q, angle M = angle R). This takes care of the two "A"s in "ASA". The tickmarks show us that the sides MO and RQ are the same length, so this takes care of the "S" of "ASA". Note the congruent sides are between the angles mentioned. The order is important.
