My Fathers Song does a better job of characterizing the person being remembered in my opinion. The author says ‘I remember the soft damp sand in my hand.’ Then he proceeds to keep adding details to that memory of his father, in the beginning of the poem is talks about how he misses his father and adds details about his father. Some details like his voice and thin chest. (Brainless answer?)

Why might a writer feel compelled to write about literature? How does it benefit US personally and/or professionally?
jok3333 [9.3K]
Literature is almost an unspoken language. There are so many ways to interpret and argue with it, that it compels writers to test past arguments, inquire on scholarly findings and revamp literature in his or her own way. It can benefit us professionally because it forces us to dig into the flesh of text to figure out the message that the author tried to relay to us. Personally it can help us to strengthen our own vocabulary or writings.

Mustufa ran the 100-meter and 200-meter races but the one he had trained for the hardest was the 400-meter competition. Which is
Bess [88]

Mustufa ran the 100-meter and 200-meter races (but the one he had trained for the hardest was the 400-meter competition).

This is the only answer that is grammatically correct. Parentheses cannot just be place anywhere in a sentence. They are used to add extra information for clarity or information that is an aside). An aside is something that is not the main part of the discussion. In this sentence, the main point is that Mustufa ran the sprint races. The extra information is that he trained for the mid-distance race.
