The two major civilizations that emerged in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas after the collapse of ancient empires were the following.

Africa.

The Wagadu Ghana Empire and the Songhai Empire. These empires dominated the region of North Africa, Senegal, and Mauritania. There were known to be warriors and exploited raw materials through mining gold that traded with other regions.

Athens and Sparta.

Athens was the place of great philosophers such as Socrates, Aristotle, and Plato. It was the center of democracy, a new form of government in which the people voted for their rulers.

Sparta was known for its formidable warriors. Children were trained since early years to be fierce warriors. The Spartans defeated Athens in the Penepolese Wars.

The Americas.

The Olmecs and Toltecs.

Historians consider that Toltecs and Olmecas were the oldest civilizations in Mesoamerica, before the Mayas and the Aztecs. Olmecs inhabited the territories of Veracruz and Tabasco, México. The Toltecs had in Tula, its capital city, modern-day the state of Hidalgo, México.
