Answer: E.  1.5\times10^8

Explanation:

Given: The number of bacteria found in  1 milliliter of water of coastal ocean. =1,500,000

Then, the number of bacteria found in  100 milliliters of water of coastal ocean =1,500,000\times100

⇒ The number of bacteria found in  100 milliliters of water of coastal ocean =150,000,000

In standard notation, 150,000,000=1.5\times10^8

Hence, the number of bacteria found in  100 milliliters of water of coastal ocean = 1.5\times10^8

The correct answer for this is E. 1.5 x 10^8 because it wants you to convert the answer into scientific notation so if the answer is 150000000  then the answer would be what i said above
