Why is the story of Ayuba Suleiman Diallo unusual?
QveST [7]

The story of Ayuba Suleiman Diallo unusual because few slave had the opportunity to write down their experiences

Ayuba Suleiman Diallo, who came to be known to his European acquaintances as Job Ben Solomon, was born into a wealthy aristocratic family of the Fula people from the Senegambia region.

His father was a prominent Muslim scholar who taught the king’s son, and Suleiman Diallo also attended. Along with kings and eminent Muslim scholars, Solomon memorized the entire Quran and became Hafiz, who assisted his father in the duties of an imam. Before Suleiman Diallo’s capture, his father helped establish the city of Bondu, where Suleiman Diallo spent his childhood, as a Muslim area ruled by the Hula.

Bondu is not only important as the home of Suleiman his Diallo, but also the site of the first Fula or Fulani his jihad. Bondu was previously under the rule of a Mande king.
