Answer:

145, 29, 2.9

Step-by-step explanation:

To convert 14.5 into tenths, first split the number apart.

0.5 is another way of saying one half or 1/2 which is also 5/10.

14 is the same as saying 14/1.  If you want tenths, add a zero to the bottom and top which gives you 140/10

So put back together, you have 145/10 or 145 tenths.

The second question is to divided 145/10 by 5.

When you divide a fraction by a whole number you first have to change the whole number into a fraction.

145                       5

-----  divided by  -----

10                          1

When you divided fractions, you flip the fraction that you are dividing by which was the 5.  Then you multiply the new fractions.  Now you would have:

145         1         145

-----  X  -----  =  -------

10          5          50

Convert this into tenths by dividing the top and bottom by 5.

145      145/5        29

-----  =  ---------  =  -------

50       50/5          10

The last question is to convert the above fraction back into a non-fraction.

Divide the top and bottom by 10.

supervisor records the repair cost for 25 randomly selected dryers. A sample mean of $93.36 and standard deviation of $19.95 are
Simora [160]
<h2><u>Answer with explanation:</u></h2>

The confidence interval for population mean (when population standard deviation is unknown) is given by :-

\overline{x}-t^*\dfrac{s}{\sqrt{n}}< \mu

, where n= sample size

\overline{x} = Sample mean

s= sample size

t* = Critical value.

Given : n= 25

Degree of freedom : df=n-1=24

\overline{x}= \$93.36

s=\ $19.95

Significance level for 98% confidence interval : \alpha=1-0.98=0.02

Using t-distribution table ,

Two-tailed critical value for 98% confidence interval :

t^*=t_{\alpha/2,\ df}=t_{0.01,\ 24}=2.4922

⇒ The critical value that should be used in constructing the confidence interval = 2.4922

Then, the 95% confidence interval would be :-

93.36-(2.4922)\dfrac{19.95}{\sqrt{25}}< \mu

=93.36-9.943878< \mu

=93.36-9.943878< \mu

=83.416122< \mu

Hence, the 98% confidence interval for the mean repair cost for the dryers. = 83.4161

Shaun needs to make mortar for brick-laying. It is made in the ratio 7:3 of sand to cement.

Sand to cement
7:3

210:x

ask yourself what number is needed to multiply by 7 to get 210 ( so you'd divide 210 by 7 which is 30). Multiply the other side by thirty as well to get the value of x

3*30 which is 90
