In the trapezoid below, EF is parallel to BC. If ED = 35, BC = 63, DC = 28,
iren2701 [21]

EF and BC in the trapezoid below are parallel. if ED=35, BC=63, and DC=28

Find the length of BD if EF = 45. Not all figures are rendered to scale.

A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with one pair of opposite sides parallel. It can have right angles (a right trapezoid), and it can have congruent sides (isosceles), but those are not required.

The base angles and the diagonals of an isosceles trapezoid are equal. The intersection point of the diagonals is collinear to the midpoints of the two opposite sides. Opposite sides of an isosceles trapezoid are of the same length or congruent to each other.

Mrs. Hanson decided to survey the twenty-one students in her homeroom one morning to find out how they were feeling at that mome
miv72 [106K]

it's 8,

let the no. of tired students be x

add all the numbers of the happy, hungry and in between students and then subtract from the total of the student

which has to look smth like this

happy = 10

so we fill all the numbers in between then we add them and see what's missing

1+3+2 = 6

10-6 = 4

4 students are happy

hungry = 7

1+1+3 = 5

7-5 = 2

2 students are hungry

and lastly for tired, they didn't mention the total so we add all the numbers we got and subtract them by the total of students (just like mentioned above)

2+1+1+3+4+2 = 13

21-13 = 8

8 students were tired

x = 8

State whether the given measurements determine zero, one, or two triangles. b=86, b=21, c=18
hammer [34]

Answer: 1

Step-by-step explanation:

I assume you meant to type B=86^{\circ}, b=21, c=18.

By the Law of Sines,

\frac{\sin C}{c}=\frac{\sin B}{b} \\ \\ \frac{\sin C}{18}=\frac{\sin 86^{\circ}}{21} \\ \\ \sin C=\frac{18 \sin 86^{\circ}}{21} \\ \\ C=\sin^{-1} \left(\frac{18 \sin 86^{\circ}}{21} \right), 180^{\circ}-\sin^{-1} \left(\frac{18 \sin 86^{\circ}}{21} \right) \\ \\ C \approx 58.77^{\circ}, 121.23^{\circ}

Since only one of these values will make a triangle (the obtuse possibility for C will mean B+C > 180^{\circ}, which violates the condition that the angles of a triangle add to 180 degrees), 1 triangle can be formed.
