•The temperature recording taken during March to May at different latitudes clearly shows the influence of the shifting of the high belt.

•The highest temperature is about 38°C in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh in April.

•Due to the moderating influence of the oceans,temperature remains lower in peninsular India.

•The air circulation begins to set in around this tough.

•At the end of the May an elongated low pressure area develop in the region extending from the Thar desert in the north west to Patna and Chota Nagpur plateau in the east and south east.
