I sit down and feel the cold
metal bench beneath me. i sit my lunch tray on the table and look up. i see people at the table across from me and people at the table next to me, but i sit alone. i have sat alone everyday for the last year, i don’t mind it so much anymore. i look down at my tray and see a carton of milk, a ham and cheese sandwich, a bag of chips, and a granola bar. i eat the same thing everyday, i walk the same paths in the halls, i sit at the same table, and i go unnoticed.
i here a gravelly southern accent.
“is anybody sittin’ here?”
i look up and see a tall dark skinned boy with curly black hair towering over me.
“uhm, no?”
i say confused.
“ok”
he says still having a southern drawl.
The boy is big and broad, he’s wearing a blue and white t-shirt. to anyone in the room we must look odd considering we’re polar opposites look wise. i’m short and pale with short red hair and glasses, he is tall and dark with curly black hair.
we sit there in silence for awhile when he finally says.
“I’m bubba. I just moved here from louisiana.”
“oh, that’s cool.”
i say.
“i saw you sittin’ here alone and figured i’d keep you company.”
he says with the widest smile i’ve ever seen.

Which is the climax of Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass?
Scilla [17]
The climax of the narrative is Douglass decides to fight back against coveys beatings.
Douglass has been enslaved for too long to the point that he didn't even dare to stand up for his own dignity. When Douglass decides to fight back from his master's beating, it marked the last chapter of Douglass status as a 'slave' and marked the beginning of his new identity in which he accepted himself as a free man.
