Answer:

52 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

Complementary angles have a sum of 90. This means when added they will equal 90. So to solve had the 2 expressions and set them equal to 90.

This looks like, (2x+18)+(6x-8)=90. Then, isolate the variable and solve.

  • Remove the parentheses

2x +18 +6x -8 =90

  • Add like terms

8x +10 =90

  • Subtract 10 from both sides

8x = 80

  • Divide both sides by 8

x=10

Finally, plug 10 in for x in the expression for angle b. This equals 52 degrees.

If A and B are independent events with P(A) = .5 and P(B) = .2, find the following:a) P(A U B)b) P(A^c ? B^c)c) P(A^c U B^c)**No
Effectus [21]

If A and B are independent, then P(A\cap B)=P(A)P(B).

a.

P(A\cup B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A\cap B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A)P(B)

P(A\cup B)=0.5+0.2-0.5\cdot0.2

\boxed{P(A\cup B)=0.6}

b. I'm guessing the ? is supposed to stand for intersection. We can use DeMorgan's law for complements here:

P(A^c\cap B^c)=P(A\cup B)^c=1-P(A\cup B)

P(A^c\cap B^c)=1-0.6

\boxed{P(A^c\cap B^c)=0.4}

c. DeMorgan's law can be used here too:

P(A^c\cup B^c)=P(A\cap B)^c=1-P(A\cap B)=1-P(A)P(B)

P(A^c\cup B^c)=1-0.5\cdot0.2

\boxed{P(A^c\cup B^c)=0.9}

~PLEASE HELP!~
Gwar [14]
I'm not sure, but what I got was -8.5, since it is only stating that it is -17 and 5, and you need to figure out Point B, when it is between A and 0. So, you don't pay attention to 1-5. You only want -17 through 0. -17 divided by two would be -8.5

A client calls the clinic and says her 12 pound mixed breed dog was just stung by a bee and his face is starting to swell. You r
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer:

5mls

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the doctors recommend the woman to give her 12 pound mixed breed dog Benadryl 12.5 mg orally, and she has Benadryl liquid that is exactly 12.5 mg per teaspoon, all she has to do is to give her dog one teaspoon only.

Since one US teaspoon equals to 5 metric millimeters.

The woman would need to give her pet 5mls then.
