Describe the plight of the Native Americans East and West of the Mississippi river.
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]

In 1820 120 thousand Native Americans lived east of the Mississippi River, by 1844 fewer than 30 thousand were left there.

As the US pushed the boundaries of its territory East and West the Native Americans suffered. President Andrew Jackson passed the Removal Act on the Congress in 1830, the bill forced Native Americans to leave the US and settle in “Indian Territory” west of the Mississippi River. Americans needed more land for white settlement, army and militia patrols supervised the tribes.

The Cherokee tribes did not agree with the bill and challenged it, thousands of federal soldiers entered the territory and forced them to relocate. It was on this moment that the “Trail of Tears” happened, Cherokees were forced to march a thousand miles into Indian Territory and about 4 thousand of them died. The Indians were not provided with adequate supplies and many died due to disease and starvation. Some estimate that close to 100 thousand Native Americans lost their lives and their homelands in the series of forced migrations that lasted through the 1840s.

GIVING BRAINLEIST NOW Which of the following best describes the United States? It has a market economy with no government regula
klasskru [66]

____________________________________________________

Answer:

Your answer would be "It has a mixed economy. The government protects individual rights, such as minimum pay for work and choices in goods and services."

____________________________________________________

Definition:

Mixed Economy:

A mixed economy is a economy that mixes enterprises that are private and public.

____________________________________________________

Explanation:

The reason why the answer choice "It has a mixed economy. The government protects individual rights, such as minimum pay for work and choices in goods and services" is the correct answer is because the United States is not just one specific economy, it has many different economies mixed into it.

Even though there were times where the United States were a specific economy, overall it has been a mixed economy for many years.  The produce that the United States make in the economy is shared or sold to sectors that are either public or private. This could also be called, or known, as a "dual economy." The government makes sure that the rights of everyone in the country are protected. They also make sure that the minimum pay in the country is decent and that people could get good things and good services. The United States has a mix of state interventionism, free markets, planned economies,  and etc. This shows that the United States has different types of economies. This would be the reason why that answer choice would be correct.

____________________________________________________

Why the other answer choices are incorrect:

The reason why answer choice "It has a market economy with no government regulation. This is the only system that can work with a government run by the people." is incorrect because:

The united States government is actually not run by the people, it is more so run by the representatives that the people elect. The government has representatives that were elected by the citizens of the Untied States to make the decisions and actions for the economy. The citizens do not run the government. The prices in the market are not decided only by the citizens. This is the reason why this answer choice would be incorrect.

The reason why answer choice "It has a command economy. A large nation like the United States needs the government to control all growth of business to prevent problems" is incorrect because:

The United States has no rights to control the growth of all the businesses in the country. If the United States had the control over all of the businesses, they would make some businesses grow and some businesses fall. The United States has no control over the growth of a business, it is the business owners job to make sure that the business is growing. This is the reason why this answer choice would be eliminated.

The reason why answer choice " It has a traditional economy. Most communities are focused on providing their own needs with the resources available in the local area." is incorrect because:

The different communities and places in the United States actually depend on other places in order to get resources. Some parts of the United States do not produce things like other parts of the Untied States, in which they would have to ask the other communities to help them out in supplying them with the products that they can't make or get from their local communities. This is the reason why this answer choice would be eliminated.
