Suppose that weights of bags of potato chips coming from a factory follow a normal distribution with mean 12.8 ounces and standa

rd deviation 0.6 ounces. A bag of chips is taken off the conveyor belt and weighed. If the weight found was 12.55 ounces, then what is the corresponding z-score for that data?

Answer:

std dev = 0.625

Given that weights of bags of potato chips coming from a factory follow a normal distribution with mean 12.8 ounces and standard deviation .6 ounces.

We must change std deviation such that

P(X<12) =0.01

Mean would remain the same as 12.8 oz

From normal distribution score we can find

10th percentile is -1.28\

i.e. we must have

Std deviation should be 0.625

Step-by-step explanation:

Hope this helps:)

STVU is an isosceles trapezoid. If SV = 3x - 11 and TU = x + 13, find the value of x
aleksandr82 [10.1K]
The given trapezoid will have the sides ST, TV, VU, and US. Each of these can be assigned as base or legs. By this, it can be deduced that the given sides, SV and TU are the diagonals. Because the trapezoid is isosceles, the values of SV and TU should also be equal.

                                   SV = TU
                                 3x - 11 = x + 13

Transpose the terms with x and the constants in each sides of the equation.

                               3x - x = 13 + 11
                                   2x = 24
                                     x = 12

Thus, the value of x from the equation is 12.

The length of a rectangular wall is 16.5 feet. The height of the wall is 8.625 feet. Cameron determines the area of the wall to
arlik [135]
Area for a rectangle is height * width. Therefore, the area of the wall would be 16.5 * 8.625 = 142.3125. Thus, Cameron's answer is not reasonable since the decimal place is in the wrong place.
