Continental drift is the geological phenomenon in which continents move. These movements at speeds of a few centimeters per year can actually be measured since the advent of satellite geodesy. The movement of continents is caused by plate tectonics.

Alfred Wegener noted at the beginning of the 20th century that the edges of some continents (particularly South America and Africa) are similar in shape, concluding that the continents were connected and separated before. The problem was that it was not known how huge land masses could move across the Earth's surface. Such a movement requires enormous power and it was not known where it came from.

Later it was known that, according to plate tectonics, the continents move as a result of convection currents in the mantle. They slowly move away from each other, bump into each other, slide under each other, or rub against each other. This causes various surface phenomena, such as earthquakes, volcanism, and slow changes, such as subsidence, mountain building and the displacement of continents.

How can state governments shape public policy?
Stells [14]

Answer:

C. by setting tax rates and enforcing regulations that reflect citizens' preferences

Explanation:

The construction granted each states the power to create their own laws. These laws can be designed specifically to support the economic activities and the social principles that the citizens prefers.

For example, The southern states such as Texas, Indiana, and Illinois generally have more people who work in agriculture-related fields. This made the government in these states generally create legislations that provide incentives for the agricultural sector (maybe by giving lower taxes for a certain agricultural products or providing loans and educations to farmers)

Which of the following is NOT correct about the base of product differentiation? Group of answer choices Firms differentiate by
zimovet [89]

Answer: Firms differentiate by establishing linkages within or between firms. Examples are linkages among functions within a firm, linkages with other firms, product mix, distribution channels and service and support

Explanation:

The whole premise of Differentiation is that Firms make a different product from their competitors to maintain a Comparative Advantage.

Should Firms now start to collaborate with other firms by making linkages with them, their product mixes and distribution, the firms will have similar products that are NOT as differentiated if differentiated at all.

This option is therefore NOT a factor of Differentiation.
