Answer:

y = 6x + 4 \\ slop = 6 \\ y - y0 = slop(x - x0) \\ y - ( - 8) = 6 \times (x - 1) \\ y + 8 = 6x - 6 \\ y = 6x - 6 - 8 = 6x - 14

Which inequality represents the situation? The maximum weight, w, an elevator can lift is 2,200 pounds. w ≥ 2,200 w > 2,200 w
IgorLugansk [536]

Answer:

w ≤ 2200

Step-by-step explanation:

If a lift can lift a maximum weight of 2200pounds, this means that the lift can not life a weight greater than 2200pounds. For the expression needed, the inequality sign to use will be a less than or equal to sign( ≤ ).

Hence the requires inequality expression will be w ≤ 2200

A) find a cartesian equation for the curve described by the given polar equation. r =3 sin g
Radda [10]
Recall that r^2 = x^2 + y^2, so that r = sqrt(x^2+y^2).

                                                                        y
r = 3 sin g becomes    sqrt(x^2+y^2) = 3*-----------------------
                                                                  sqrt(x^2+y^2)

Squaring both sides,

                    9y^2
x^2+y^2 = -----------------
                  x^2 + y^2

If this is correct (and I'm not convinced that it is), then (x^2+y^2)^2 = 9y^2
shows the relationship between x and y. Can anyone improve on this result?

explain how it is possible that all proportional relationships are linear functions but not all linear functions are proportiona
OLEGan [10]

Proportional and linear functions are almost identical in form. The only difference is the addition of the “b” constant to the linear function. Indeed, a proportional relationship is just a linear relationship where b = 0, or to put it another way, where the line passes through the origin (0,0).

You’re welcome
