The negative charge that found inside the plasma membrane is created by movement of potassium ions.

Explanation:

The concentration of the potassium ions is very high inside the cell but low outside the cell whereas the concentration of both Sodium and chloride ions is more outside the cell but less inside the cell. Inside of the cell plasma membrane is negatively charged in spite of having large positively charged potassium ion concentration due to the presence of organic anions in large amount and leaks of potassium ions.

These anions are the charged group of the proteins and other organic molecules. As the membrane is more permeable to the movement of potassium ions outside the cell, the comparative ratio of the concentration of organic anion to cation increases with the decreasing cations concentration and causes the membrane to have a negative charge on the inside.

Describe the discovery of the importance of DNA including descriptions of at least two experiments
Annette [7]

Explanation:

Introduction

Our modern understanding of DNA role in heredity has led to a variety of practical applications, including forensic analysis, paternity testing, and genetic screening. Thanks to these wide-ranging uses, today many people have at least a basic awareness of DNA.

It may be surprising, then, to realize that less than a century ago, even the best-educated members of the scientific community did not know that DNA was the hereditary material!

In this article, we'll look at some of the classic experiments that led to the identification of DNA as the carrier of genetic information.

Protein vs. DNA

The work of Gregor Mendel showed that traits (such as flower colors in pea plants) were not inherited directly, but rather, were specified by genes passed on from parents to offspring. The work of additional scientists around the turn of the 20th century, including Theodor Bovari, Walter Sutton, and Thomas Hunt Morgan, established that Mendel's heritable factors were most likely carried on chromosomes.

Scientists first thought that proteins, which are found in chromosomes along with DNA, would turn out to be the sought-after genetic material. Proteins were known to have diverse amino acid sequences, while DNA was thought to be a boring, repetitive polymer, due in part to an incorrect (but popular) model of its structure and composition1

start superscript, 1, end superscript.

Today, we know that DNA is not actually repetitive and can carry large amounts of information, as discussed further in the article on discovery of DNA structure. But how did scientists first come to realize that "boring" DNA might actually be the genetic material?

Why does a proteins 3D structure determine its biological function?
Katarina [22]

hi there

your answer to this response is

Proteins are the most versatile macro molecules in living systems and serve crucial functions in essentially all biological processes. The proteins they fold up into three dimensional structures that are determined by the sequence of amino acids in the protein polymer.

i hope this helps you out

i have a great morning

the vertebral column is composed of 33 bones before ____ ; some later fuse to form ____ separate bones.
Naddik [55]

The vertebral column is composed of 33 bones before fusing; some later fuse to form 26 separate bones.

The vertebral column, also known as the backbone or spine, is a long, flexible column of bones extending from the skull to the tailbone. It is made up of 33 vertebrae, separated into five sections: the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacral, and coccygeal. In between each vertebra is a disc of cartilage that acts as a shock absorber, allowing the bones to move independently of one another.

The vertebral column also houses the spinal cord, which is a bundle of nerves that runs from the brain to the lower back. It is responsible for transmitting signals to and from the brain and body.

A 56-year-old woman presents to her doctor's office complaining of gradually progressive, nonpainful enlargement of the terminal
Neko [114]

Answer:

The patient is suffering from the obesity. She might have joint disease and but no synovitis is diagnosed in her medical examination.

1) The next step is the determination of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate. This step measures the speed of the sediment of erythrocytes. The high sediment rate may be indication of the infection of the auto immune disease.

2) The most likely diagnosis of the patient is osteoarthritis. This causes the condition of joint paints and affect the million of the people in the world.

3) The initial treatment might be given to the patient is NSAID (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). These drugs are taken to remove the pain and generally prescribed to the medical condition of the patient of arthritis.
