Answer:

15 weeks

$270

Step-by-step explanation:

Let y = total money saved

x = weeks

I am saving $14 every week, so I multiply x by 14

y = 14x

And I already have $60 to begin with

y = 14x + 60

My sister is saving $10 every week, so I multiply x by 10

y = 10x

And she already has $120 to begin with

y = 10x + 120

Now we just need to find a point where they are the same

14x + 60 = 10x + 120

Move like terms to one side, so subtract 10x from both sides

14x + 60 = 10x + 120

-10x         -10x

4x + 60 = 120

Subtract 60 from both sides

4x + 60 = 120

    - 60    - 60

4x = 60

Divide both sides by 4

4x/4 = 60/4

x = 15

Now plug in the new x into one of the original equations to find the money amount. We'll use sister's.

y = 10(15) + 120

y = 150 + 120

y = 270

Max bought a pair of shorts on sale for 20% off the original price of $60 and another 25% off the discounted price. If sales tax
lawyer [7]

Answer = $39.78

100-20 =80

100-25=75

Multiply 60 x .80 to get $48

Then multiply 48 x .75 to get $36

Sales tax %10.5 = move decimal two places to left .105

Now multiply 36 x .105 =3.78

$3.78 equals your sales tax

Finally add $3.78+$36= $39.78

An ecology center wants to set up an experimental garden using 300m of fencing to enclose a rectangular area of 5000m^2. Find th
Hunter-Best [27]
P = 2(L+W) where L = Length and W = Width.A = L*WYou are given that P = 300m and A = 5000 sq.m. so plug these values into the two equations thus:300 = 2(L+W)5000 = L*WNow you have a system of equations with two unknowns.Solve equation 1a) for LL = 150-W now substitute this into equation 2a) and solve for W.5000 = (150-W)*W Simplify this.W^2-150W+5000 = 0 This quadratic equation can be solved by factoring, so...(W-100)(W-50) = 0So W = 100 or W = 50Now we need to find L and we can use equation 1b.L = 150 - W and, if W = 50m, then:L = 100m or, if W = 100m, then:L = 50m.The dimensions of the garden are: 100m by 50m

You are thinking of employing a t procedure to test hypotheses about the mean of a population using a significance level of 0.05
Murljashka [212]

Answer: B. You may use the t procedure, provided your sample size is large, say, at least 30.

Step-by-step explanation: To use a T test hypothesis, the following steps is considered;

1. Add the test hypothesis when using a T test module in the experiment

2. Add the date set that contains the columns that is to be analyzed

3. Decide which kind of T test is appropriated for the data

4. If single sample is been used, the adequate parameters should be used.

The correct statement in this case is "You may use the t procedure, provided your sample size is large, say, at least 30."
