it would take about 6 weeks and you would both have $130

Step-by-step explanation:

it would take you 5 weeks to reach $130 and your sister 1 week to reach $130.

Answer:

15 weeks

$270

Step-by-step explanation:

Let y = total money saved

x = weeks

I am saving $14 every week, so I multiply x by 14

y = 14x

And I already have $60 to begin with

y = 14x + 60

My sister is saving $10 every week, so I multiply x by 10

y = 10x

And she already has $120 to begin with

y = 10x + 120

Now we just need to find a point where they are the same

14x + 60 = 10x + 120

Move like terms to one side, so subtract 10x from both sides

14x + 60 = 10x + 120

-10x         -10x

4x + 60 = 120

Subtract 60 from both sides

4x + 60 = 120

    - 60    - 60

4x = 60

Divide both sides by 4

4x/4 = 60/4

x = 15

Now plug in the new x into one of the original equations to find the money amount. We'll use sister's.

y = 10(15) + 120

y = 150 + 120

y = 270

Bogdan [553]

Answer:

1) 80% CI: [3.04; 3.26]gr

d= 0.11

2) n= 28 hummingbirds

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

The study variable of this experiment is:

X: the weight of a hummingbird. (gr)

And it has a normal distribution, symbolically: X~N(μ;σ²)

And (I hope I got it correctly) its population standard deviation is σ= 0.33

There was a sample of n= 15 hummingbirds taken, its sample mean X[bar]= 3.15 gr

1) You need to construct an 80% Confidence Interval for the population mean of the hummingbird's weight.

Since the study variable has a normal distribution, you can use either the standard normal distribution or the Student's t distribution. Both are useful to estimate the population mean. Since the population standard variance is known, the best choice is the Standard normal.

Z= <u> X[bar] - μ </u>~ N(0;1)

       σ/√n

The formula for the interval is:

X[bar] ± Z_{1- \alpha /2} * (σ/√n)

Z_{1- \alpha /2}= Z_{0.90} = 1.28

3.15 ± 1.28 * (0.33/√15)

[3.04; 3.26]gr

The margin of error (d) of a confidence interval is hal its amplitude (a)

a= Upper bond - Lower bond

d= (Upper bond - Lower bond)/2

d= \frac{(3.26-3.04)}{2} = 0.11

2) You need to calculate a sample size for a 80% Confidence interval for the average weight of the hummingbirds with a margin of error of d= 0.08

As I said before, the margin of error is half the amplitude of the interval, the formula you use to estimate the population mean has the following structure:

"point estamator" ± "margin of error"

Then the margin of error is:

d= Z_{1- \alpha /2} * (σ/√n)

Now what you have to do is rewrite the formula based on the sample size

d= Z_{1- \alpha /2} * (σ/√n)

\frac{d}{Z_{1- \alpha /2}}= σ/√n

√n * \frac{d}{Z_{1- \alpha /2}}= σ

√n = σ * \frac{Z_1- \alpha /2}{d}

n = (σ * \frac{Z_1- \alpha /2}{d})²

n=  (0.33 * \frac{1.28}{0.08})²

n= 27.8784 ≅ 28 hummingbirds.

I hope it helps!

Sue's Fruit Stand sells 20 different types of fruits. The table below shows the numbers of fruits that have certain percentages
Ksenya-84 [330]

Answer:

The first histogram is the answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

Like any other questions, you can use the process of elimination to answer this question.

There are only one fruit that has a water content of 60 - 64 %

Right away you can eliminate the second answer choice.

There are two fruits that has a water content of 65 - 69 %

All the other three has the same thing

There are only two fruits that has a water content of 70 to 74 %

Right away answer choice three can be eliminated

There are 4 fruits that are 75 - 79 % full with water

Both has same thing

There are 9 friuts that are 80 - 84 % full with water

THERE ARE 2 FRUITS THAT CONTAIN 85 - 89 % water

THE ANSWER IS THE FIRST HISTOGRAM.

Find the length of the leg(s) of a right triangle, to the nearest hundredth, if both legs are equal and the hypotenuse is 10.
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

7.07 units

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the Pythagorean theorem for the right triangle:

\text{hypotenuse}^2=\text{leg}_1^2+\text{leg}_2^2,\\ \\c^2=a^2+b^2.

If a = x, b = x, and c = 10, then

10^2=x^2+x^2,\\ \\100=2x^2,\\ \\x^2=50,\\ \\x=\sqrt{50}=5\sqrt{2}\approx 7.07\ units.
