Answer:

$159,000

Step-by-step explanation:

This problem involves arithmetic sequences, because each term is found by adding a common difference to the previous term.  If the first term is $78,000, the next is $78,000 + $3000, and so on.

The general sequence is a(n) = $78,000 + $3000(n - 1)

At the end of his 28th (not 29th) year, William would be making

a(28) = $78,000 + $3000(28 - 1) during his 29th year.  This comes to

$159,000.

Which of the following values would complete the ordered pair if the point is on the graph of f (x) = -3x + 2 ?
Scrat [10]

Answer: the y-coordinate that completes the point is 5.

Explanation:

An ordered pair (x, y) indicates the x-and-y coordinates of a general point, where x is the input value of a function and y is the output value.

The output value is y = f(x) and must be found applying the rule (function) to the given input value.

In this case the rulte is f(x) = - 3x + 2, and the input value, x,  is - 1 (the first value of the ordered pair).

This is the mathematical procedure:

  • x = - 1
  • f(x) = f (-1) = -3 (-1) + 2 = 3 + 2 = 5.

Graph the solution of y-2>1 on a number line
Angelina_Jolie [31]
First, you need to move 2 to the other side. You accomplish this by adding 2 to 1. You have y>3. Since your variable is smaller than 3, draw an open circle on the 3 mark and a squiggly line left of 3.

4x - 6 = 2x - 2 does anyone know the answer to dis
mel-nik [20]

4x-6=2x-2

You then would eliminate 6, by adding 6 to both sides

4x=2x+4

Then you want all of the X's on the same side, so you subtract 2x from both sides.

2x=4

Then to isolate the X, you divide by 2

2=x

The answer is x=2
