I have to write two small paragraphs on Should government provide health care? can someone help and just give me their opinion o
Ksenya-84 [330]

Answer:

I would say that yes government should provide health care.

Explanation:

Start off your first paragraph with your opinion and add one reason. An example would be, Government should provide health care because reason 1. Discuss reason 1 in the first paragraph. For the second paragraph start the same way, I think government should provide health care because reason 2. If you have text then include quotes. In one of your paragraphs include a counter claim. Basically say, Some people may say government should not provide health care because (insert reason). Then say, this is not a realistic reason because..... At the end of your first paragraph write a transitional sentence such as, government has many other reasons to provide health care or something along that line. At the end of your second paragraph write a concluding sentence. For example, government should provide health care because reason 1 and reason 2 prove that it would be beneficial.  One reason you could use I thought of right away was so that people are able to care more about helping their child, significant other, mom, dad, etc get better than worry about how much money the life saving procedure is going to cost.  A reason you could say to not provide health care, is that insurance would most likely fight procedures more and it would be difficult to get treatments because if everyone can now get procedures they need for free, some people may not be accepted because they are not in as dire of circumstances. Overall, a general rule of thumb I use is pick the side that is easiest to support not what you necessarily agree with.

serious [3.7K]

The correct answer to what do Bixby's expressions suggest about his character is the last option: He has a natural, highly witty sense of humor.

When Bixby says things like <em>"By the great Caesar's ghost"</em> or <em>"you don't know enough to pilot a cow down a lane"</em>, it becomes clear that he has a <em>funny, comical and somehow inventive character.</em> His expressions are <em>jokes or puns</em> that seem to be <em>natural</em>, they appear to be <em>common or usual in his speech</em> and to come intuitively. So, the correct answer to what the expressions suggest about Bixby's character is that <em>he has a natural, highly witty sense of humor.</em>

The correct answer couldn't be the first option, <em>"He has a large and somewhat imposing personality"</em> because there is <em>nothing imposing about the comments Bixby does</em>. He is, indeed, a little bit acid, but not at all imposing. On the contrary,<em> he asks for Moses' help and says that he believes him.</em> Therefore, the correct answer couldn't be "He has a large and somewhat imposing personality".

The correct answer couldn't be the second option, <em>"He does not get along well with any other people"</em>, because there is <em>nothing on his way of speaking which indicates that his jokes, puns or way of expressing himself are not well excepted by people.</em> On the contrary, he seems to be acid, humorous, <em>but also friendly.</em> Thus, the correct answer couldn't be "He does not get along well with any other people".

The correct answer couldn't be the third option, <em>"He is extremely well read and well educated"</em> because Bixby shows <em>no signs</em> of that. On the contrary, <em>when he speaks, his expressions are informal and conversational.</em> So, the correct answer couldn't be "He is extremely well read and well educated".

Answer:

The correct answers are:

marked - considerable

unseared - pure, uncorrupted

Explanation:

The most interesting feature of my history here was my learning to read and write, under somewhat marked (considerable) disadvantages.

Words like these, I observed, always troubled them; and I had no small satisfaction in wringing from the boys, occasionally, that fresh and bitter  condemnation of slavery, that springs from nature, unseared (pure, uncorrupted) and unperverted.

In his stories, Frederick Douglas tries to describe the cruelty of slavery and all the problems that the black people could face because of his/her skin color. In order to achieve that, he uses a strong and authentic vocabulary where some words can be replaced with other words that most closely match the denotation of the words.

In our excerpts, the word <em>marked</em> can be replaced with <em>considerable</em>, while the word <em>unseared</em> can be replaced with <em>pure</em> or <em>uncorrupted</em>.
