This graph is not a direct variation graph.

Direct variation graphs take the form of a = kb where k is a constant

An example is y = 4x.

There is no constant increase, rather it is an exponential function y = x^2

You might say you could write it as y = x(x). and say x is the constant but x is not constant in this case and its changing.

This graph does not show direct variation :)

Komok [63]

Answer:

\frac{-47}{6} = 7.833

Step-by-step explanation:

Expression given is:

-4\frac{2}{3} -(3\frac{1}{6})

Now change the mixed fraction to improper fractions;

-\frac{14}{3} -\frac{19}{6}

Now take a common denominator:

-\frac{28}{6} -\frac{19}{6}

Now we can simplify the the above equation:

\frac{-28-19}{6}

\frac{-47}{6} = 7.833

Solve 2x^2=11x+6 by factoring
Ede4ka [16]

Answer:

(x-6) (2x+1)

Step-by-step explanation:

1) move everything over to the left side, so subtract 11x and 6.

2x^2 -11x - 6 = 0

2)multiply 2(a term) with -6 (c term)

x^2 -11x -12

3) factor and find what multiples to -12 and adds up to -11. in this case its -12 and positive 1

(x-12) (x+1)

4) divide -12 and 1 by the original a term (2)

(x-6) (x+1/2)

5) move the denominator of 2 over to the x.

(x-6) (2x+1)

Solve the system of linear equations by adding or subtracting. Show all work!
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Answer:

x = -2, y = -2

Step-by-step explanation:

Your goal is to try and cancel out a variable. I want to get rid of y so i subtracted the first equation from the second one.

After that I solve for x and got x=-2.

I used x=-2 and plugged it back into either of the equation to solve for y.
