<span>Typically the United States uses its size and power to deter aggression from potential adversaries. In cases that this does not discourage the aggressor, Military forces could be deployed, this can mean anything from the Air Force using drone strikes all the way down to simply placing a blockade by the Navy if possible.</span>
It means, for example if I say, "I go to the park every now and then", then it isn't a common event, but happens often enough not to be classified as a rarity.
